Treatable Areas

There are many parts of the body and face that can be treated with liposuction. The most common depend on whether you’re male or female, but whatever gender you are, any of these areas can be targeted:

Face and Neck
Many people think that the face and neck are not able to be treated with liposuction, but this is incorrect. Common areas that may be treated are the chin, cheeks and jowls. The only problems, however, is that they require a surgeon who has great skill in treating these areas.

Arms
The arms, particularly the upper arms (aka “bingo wings”) are a common area recontoured with liposuction.

Breast and Chest Area
Men will find liposuction an effective treatment for gynecomastia, or male breast syndrome. Liposuction can flatten down the chest and allowing the chest to become more toned. For women, breast reduction often involves liposuction to reduce the amount of fat in the breasts, helping women reduce back strain, sore shoulders and achieve a more balanced body contour.

Back
The upper and lower back are both common targets for men and women who want a slimmer profile and less “rolls”.

Abdominal Area
This area is the by far, the most commonly targeted area. Liposuction will help reduce the amount of subcutaneous fat in the area, slimming down the area.

Hips
Liposuction can slim down the hips, mainly for women who want a slimmer profile and for men who want a less feminine shape.

Buttocks
The buttocks are where many store unwanted fat. The size of the buttocks can be reduced with liposuction.

Thighs
The thighs are one of the primary concerns for women, where many tend to store fat. The outer and inner thigh can be targeted.

Knees
The front of the knee may be treated with liposuction, however the back cannot be safely treated due to the presence of nerves.

Ankles
Cankles can be eliminated by liposuctioning the ankles, which defines the ankles from the calves better.
