The family of Cristian Capatanescu can’t afford a coffin that’s large enough for him and as a result, will have to opt for one that’s regular sized. Liposuction will allow Capatanescu to fit into one. According to news reports, the portion of his body that is removed during the liposuction procedure will be cremated while the remainder will be buried in a traditional funeral service.

While plus sized coffins are still rare in Canada, they are growing in popularity to accommodate the increase in size of the general population.
