Lipodissolve is another method of liposuction that supposedly melts fat, much like Smartlipo.

In 1995, the Brazilian dermatologist Dr. Patricia Rittes developed Lipodissolve to target areas on the body resistant to exercise and diet. Unlike the laser based device of Smartlipo, Lipodissolve uses Phosphatidylcholine, medicine which is injected into the fat of the target area so that the fat cells increase in size and eventually burst. The body naturally eliminates these burst fat cells in the time following treatment.

While it has been around for a while, this method has not garnered as much attention as Smartlipo.
